Slow down to smell the roses ❀

Sometimes we get so caught up with perfection and everything running smoothly that we miss out on:
peace
lessons learned
the Now
building relationships
having an experience
enjoying the moment
making a memory

Does a friendly gathering at your home turn into a Martha Stewart frenzy of cleaning or are you just glad to spend quality time and build on relationships?

In preparing for your child's school play, are you supportive of his efforts, or critical that he 'get it perfect' for the stage?

Many terminally ill people, when reviewing their life, talk about the regret of missing out on experiences/time with those they loved.
Their job, money, degrees - it offered no comfort in the end.
The significance of people, experiences and love -
And the appreciation of the ‘little things’
Is what seems to give us the most fulfillment in life.

I’ll never forget what a cancer patient told me 25 years ago -
“Make sure you always take the time to smell the roses.” ❀
