Throwing rice at the newly married couple is an old tradition rooted in wishing the couple prosperity and fertility.
Over the years we have substituted whole grains of rice with instant rice.
Whole grains processed and dehydrated - a changed form of the whole food.
Created out of a desire for speed and convenience.
Rice that may have been irradiated, stripped of the DNA required to reproduce in nature and continue a natural life cycle.
Rice that offers our bodies less nutrition, but cost much more money.
An interesting progression
